Ikhansela No Jbc whose real name was also Mfihleni Roland Mkhize is an amazing and talented maskandi artist known for his amazing and wonderful talent in the music industry. He is also a singer, composer, and producer in the maskandi music genre. Ikhansela No Jbc was born in the year 1963 in KwaZulu-Natal south africa.
He has always been inspired by maskandi culture and tradition. Ikhansela grew up in a family and environment that loves music. From an early age, he was drawn to local musicians and instruments. He learned to play the guitar at an early age, which launched his musical career. He was employed as a teller at Trust Bank when he initially arrived in Johannesburg in the year 1984. Sipho Bhengu who is from Mango Groove found him. He obtained a recording contract at Moonshine Records with the assistance of Moses Dlamini who is the former manager of Soul Brothers.
During his time in the music line, he faced a lot of challenges which almost discouraged him but he never gave on them as he got more encouragement from his families and friends. He made maskandi music and music industry proud as well as himself. He will always remain an icon to the history of maskandi music and inspiration to upcoming maskandi stars. He is also a motivation to already made maskandi stars.
Having completed high school, Ikhansela is well-educated. He keeps a personal life and enjoys living a quiet existence. He made gestures indicating the value of education on a regular basis. He encouraged those he influenced to have personal ambitions and objectives. He liked them buying their songs and albums and chatting with them on Facebook. “Most of his fans don’t even have the graduation, driver’s license, job, or student numbers needed for them to support themselves,” he claimed. His perseverance has proven to be his biggest asset in maskandi music. He has always found inspiration and attraction in Maskandi culture and heritage as a South African.
Amalombo which is Mkhize’s debut album which was sold over 50,000 copies when it came out in the year 1985. He was well-known for the song “Izwi” and his devotional music. It was in the song titled “Ningakhali Bantabam” that Mkhize foretold his destruction. He knew about his own death.
Following a protracted illness, Mkhize passed away when fighting the illness. His burial was held at the Hillbrow Assemblies of God Church and they also held a memorial ceremony in his honor. His composition and singing abilities were commended by the speakers.
