ABOUT BONAKELE MYEZA

Born in 1985, Ulundi native Bonakele Myeza is a female Maskandi amazing and taented gospel performer. She attended Ntilingwe Primary and Zwelonke High for her early schooling. She went to Fons Luminis Secondary School after relocating to Johannesburg. Thokozani Langa, a popular and award-winning Maskandi singer, discovered Bonakele in 2005.

Realizing she had too much skill, he believed it would be a fantastic idea to use her in most of his songs. When she launched her debut album Yonke Indlela in 2007 and this featured the popular song “Ngahlupheka” her career took off. Thokozani Langa produced her debut album, which was published under the Amon Music label.

Because most people were unfamiliar with Bonakele’s form of music, her beautiful voice and music garnered excessive attention. Her second album, “Ngiyamemeza,” was released in 2008, followed by “Amathambo” in 2009, and her fourth album, “Ngilamlele,” was released in 2010. She was also nominated for a Crown Award for best Maskandi gospel in 2010. Her time with Amon Music came to an end in 2011 when her contract expired and she decided to join a new company. After signing with Bula Music in 2011, she released her debut album, “Nginenkinga,” in 2012 and her hit single, “Inqanawe,” in 2013.

The Utalagu Festival, Impucuzeko, Amantshontsho Awards, Uvukile Gospel Festival, Sikhuzimpi Maskandi Festival, and Amahle Benefits Scheme festivities are just a few of the events she has attended and performed at. Many artists, including the late Mtshengiseni Gcwensa, the late Musa Majola (Khwel’ebhasini), Isinamuva, Buhle Nhlangulela, and others, have collaborated with Bonakele.Her next album, which she is currently recording, is scheduled for release this year.
