THIZWIHANGWI NEMANASHE TZAFENDA’s Biography
Thizwihangwi Nemanashe is an amazing and talented South africa born maskandi artist. He was born Attridgeville and also raised in Soshanguve. Thizwihangwi Nemanashe is also known known as Tzafenda. In the music line, his main aim is to promote social interest in music.
Growing up, Tzafenda listened to music from the early to mid 1990s, such as Tupac and Snoop. He claims that although the commercial hip hop scene in South Africa has expanded, the quality of the music and message has declined.
His interest in music started at a very early stage. He had support from family and friends. His journey into music started when he was about 13years of age. At the age of 13, he wrote his first song which he titled Kwaito song. During this period, he joined the TUT FM where he was a presenter which made his take his music journey serious.
He enjoyed rapping as he later switched to a hip pop star. He was mentioned that during one of his performance, he heard something tell him to switch to hip pop and moreover, he loved rapping. His taste of music related to hip pop is that of rhythm and poetry. He said he love this kind of music because it contains music with defined message. His music also talks about environmental causes and action to change. His song promotes social economy and welfare of the people.
He once released a song which he dedicated to his mother. This single is titled “Its Alright”. The song is actually dedicated to his mom, his family and people around the world struggling with life.
He said that a growing number of musicians are choosing to work independently rather than sign with record labels. According to Tzafenda, music distribution is made simpler by the digital. He always say the benefits of becoming independent include having complete control over everything, including publishing, marketing, and image rights. The drawback is that music distribution becomes a challenge, but with today’s technology, it’s also possible to distribute through digital shops, making it simpler for independent musicians like us to do so.
