ABOUT BIG ZULU

Rapper and musician Siyabonga Nene, better known by her stage name Big Zulu, was born in South Africa on April 7, 1986. After releasing the single “Donsa Nkabi” in 2016, he gained fame.

BIG ZULU’S CAREER

After working as a cab driver for a while, Zulu left in 2008 to focus on his musical career. Soon after leaving the taxi industry in 2009, he began writing songs and giving live performances. In 2013, four years later, Zulu participated in and won the Red Bull Back to the City competition, making history. The year 2016 saw the release of his first track, “Donsa Nkabi“. The album was nominated for Best Hip Hop Album at the 26th South African Music Awards (SAMA26) and received the award of gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).The album received nominees for Album of the Year and Best Male Artist of the Year at the 2019 South African Hip Hop Awards in the same year. He founded Nkabi Records, his own record label.

He released his single “Mali Eningi” on November 20, 2020, which serves as the primary single hit for the album and features Intaba Yase Dubai & Ricky Rick. The song was certified double platinum after debuting at number two on the Channel 0 Top 30 charts. Best collaboration was awarded by “Mali Eningi” at the 27th annual South African Music Awards. He was ranked fifth on MTV Base as SA’s Hottest MCs when he was first chosen at the end of 2020. In late January 2021, he declared that work was starting on his third studio album. His second song, “Inhlupheko,” featuring Mduduzi Ncube, came out on March 11, 2021.[28] The song reached number four on the Shazam charts and ranked number one on the South African iTunes sales.

He revealed on Twitter on July 3, 2021, the release of a new song called “Umuzi eSandton” which features Lwah Ndlunkulu. He was chosen once more on MTV Base as SA’s Hottest MCs at the end of 2021, moving up to the second spot.

The song “iVolovolo” with Xowla was made available on February 11, 2022. In South Africa, the song had its top-selling single hit. On June 24, 2022, the first single from the album “Voicemail” by Big Zulu Mduduzi Ncube, Lwah Ndlunkulu, Siya Ntuli, and Xowla was published.
