What to anticipate during festival season this year is as follows.
Amandla Maskandi Festival:
One of the most popular genres to emerge from our own nation is maskandi. “Teach and inspire men to acknowledge women, and to view it as their power to guard women and children from abuse,” is another way that the Amandla Maskandi Festival will honor women this year as well.
Dstv Delicious International Food & Music Festival:
This festival is returning and better than ever after a two-year break. This year, a staggering 50 000 visitors are anticipated to generate R340 million in income for Gauteng’s Tourism Authority (GTA), which is meant to be recovered. With performers like Nigerian Afrobeats legend Burna Boy and the 1980s hip-hop duo Digable Planets scheduled to appear, a two days event under the sun doesn’t seem all that horrible either. With performers and guests coming from all around Africa, the Dstv Delicious Global Food & Music Festival is sure to be one of the year’s top music events.
Day Party: Beneath the African Sky:
It’s time for another season of Psymedia’s Under the African Sky, which is ideal for festival goers who detest the headache of locating tents, lodging, food, and water for multi-day events. With just R375 to spare, this year’s event promises to be a genuine outdoor experience with some of Cape Town’s most prominent performers. The headroom from Igoba Records, together with DJ Mark and Miles from Mars, will be performing live. Aside from some amazing food vendors like Blended Food Truck, which serves their famous vegetarian, vegan, and beef dishes, and Love Pizza because what’s better than a hot pie Under the African Sky is a wonderfully planned festival.
Rocking the Daises (RTD):
It would be intriguing to see what more Rocking the Daises (RTD) has planned for its fans this year, especially after making news for their uninspired musical selections. I’ll meet you in the front row of the festival, eager to see if RTD lives up to the anticipation, for all the inquisitive minds like mine.
Bronville Sports and Arts Festival:
One of the most awaited sporting events of the year is likely to be The Bronville Sports and Arts Festival, another day event for fans of straightforward festivals. There will be a 16-team soccer competition, a 4-team union contest, and a 4team netball tournament, so there will be plenty of sports fans, eager athletes, and cold beverages to go around.
Malibongwe – A Tribute to Women:
A geared day in the sun with the ladies who have had the biggest influence on you is the perfect way to honor the women in our lives. The intimate and verdant Emmerentia Botanical Gardens provide the venue for Malibongwe (A Tribute to Women), a simple event.
Presenting to you, via Magula Productions, are the top female performers in South Africa. This year’s lineup includes performers including Uncle Waffles, Simmy, and Ami Faku. Only R250 to R345 will be charged for tickets.
The Ubungoma Festival:
The Ubungoma Festival, the first of its type, explains the nature of traditional healing and rituals. Some of the most well-known spiritual healers in South Africa are scheduled to participate in this heavenly experience.
J.O.M Platinum Jazz Festival:
Doyze Media is pleased to announce the return of the J.O.M Platinum Jazz Festival. They will be honoring Kgosi J.O.M. Mamogale’s life, times, values, culture, heritage, and legacy this year. Should that not appeal to you, there will be fantastic local and international Afro jazz and jazz performers performing at the event. Though the lineup for this one excites us, tickets range in price from R300 to R2,000, so start saving!
