THE LIFE STORY OF UGATSHENI:

Changing the music landscape since the early 2000s, Mlungisi Khuzani Ndlovu, better known by his stage name Gatsheni, is a visionary Maskandi musician from Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He is well regarded for his unique sound, which skillfully combines modern elements with ancient Zulu roots. Gatsheni’s music is now considered an essential in the Maskandi genre, reaching a worldwide audience with inspiring and uplifting lyrics.

UGATSHENI’S AGE:

Born in 1990 in the beautiful city of Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, this gifted vocalist is a product of Maskandi. He will turn 34 in 2024, having grown and changed musically over the course of more than three decades. Gatsheni’s music was strongly influenced by the vivid customs and tales of his native country, KwaZulu-Natal, where he spent his early years immersed in the rich cultural legacy.
