Once more, the Maskandi family escapes a devastating attack
Another maskandi musician has faced another assassination attempt on his family. This family formed their group since the year 1993. This attack was on a maskandi co-founder of the group Izingane Zoma. They were once involved in an assassination attack which almost took their life. The first attack happened in the month of February 2024. They were on a night journey and were brutally attacked. The attack was however an ambush.
Due to this first attack, the ceased to release further album till they feel more safe to do so. This issue has gotten to far. However, they reported this incident to the police and higher authorizes and nothing seemed to be done about it.
Shobeni as well as his nephew, Mthokoziswa were wounded during the tragic incident while the rest were left unharmed. The individuals involved in the first tragic incident were the group’s other co-founder Busani ,”Ntshebe” ,Khuzwayo and Shobeni’s sons, the maskandi singers, Dlubheke and Falabo
This is however the second attempt which they however survived. This attack occurred on the 16th December 2024 which was on a Monday. This second incident happened in Qhudeni Village in Nquthu, northern KZN, South Africa. The unknown gunmen fired on them on that Monday morning. This time around, the escaped without any injuries.
The family however praised God for delivering them out from the hands of the unknown gun men. One of the family member while questioned by the news said that the noticed the movement of the unknown gunmen and where they camped. They camped throughout Sunday night against their planned attack on Monday morning. They were seen feasting on bread and meat.
He continued “when they noticed we found out their mission and hideout, the opened fired at us. Probably, they were waiting for night time to execute their mission which obviously failed” He continued to thank his ancestors for their life.
They still wondered where they went wrong or who they offered and still feared for their lives. Investigation is on going on the issues.
