Maskandi legends and Rhuma will be performing at the Big five concert
This Saturday, fans of Rhuma and Maskandi will be treated to a performance called “the big 5” at Esibayeni Leisure Spot in the eMatshohobana district of Bulawayo. The program will feature several of the top live artists that hail from the Matabeleland district.
Godolude and his band Eze Energy, the legendary SaMangwe and Mlambos Express Band, the lively Clement Magwaza and Macrey sounds, the humorous Madlela Skhobohhobo, and the maskandi maestro Zinjaziyamluma are all part of the celebrity program.
The “Big 5” performance was sparked by the musicians’ wish to bring together indigenous musicians and support people who are in need, according to Thabiso Ndlovu, one of the event organizers. “Upon working together with a common objective of fostering the growth of local music as well as communicate the importance of unity, the five artists themselves organized the Big Five show,” he said.
According to Ndlovu, the event is also being conducted in favor of the Nobuhle Virgie Foundation, which helps South African Zimbaweans who are homeless by giving them food, goods, and a way to get home. The foundation also provides assistance to families in Bulawayo that are at risk. Additionally, it’s about bringing attention to problems that South African Zimbabweans face. Through our music, we hope to convey an intention of humanity. He went on to say that the occasion’s main goal is to increase youth knowledge concerning drug and alcohol usage, as many of them frequently attend these kinds of events.

Godolude will be dancing with his masters, Clement Magwaza and Fiselani “SaMangwe” Ngwenya, who were instrumental in his ascent to fame as a dancer, therefore the concert is particularly meaningful to him. Mlambos Express Band, who recently returned to Zimbabwe from South Africa, views this partnership as a significant step in advancing the regional music scene.

Magwaza announced that supporters will receive a special sneak peek at his new album, Isiphala Sengqondo, which is scheduled for release in November, following his return from a run of performances in Botswana, including the Domboshava festival.
