The eThekwini municipality and the festival’s organizers have a deal for three years in place. Ethekwini is commended for fostering up-and-coming talent at the Impucuzeko Maskandi Festival.
Gugu Sisilana, a representative for the EThekwini Municipality, stated that the City will keep helping up-and-coming artists and small enterprises by giving them monetary assistance and offering them advantageous business prospects.
Being able to stage another outstanding festival makes us very happy. The festival, which is now known as the World Cup of Maskandi music, offered more than 50 businesses a chance to trade in addition to its performing arts focus, Sisilana added.
Amongst the many people that greeted the stage included Gatsheni, Stabhilithi, Mzukulu, Khuzani, Sminoff, Ntencane, Amageza Amahle, Mlabalaba, Sdoni, and Sgwebo sentambo. An ensemble of gratitude was sung by Ntethelelo “Ghanda-Ghanda” Buthelezi, who is the leader of the fifteen-member Empangeni girl group Omelisizwe, for the chance that the City and event organizers had given members.
