Benny Mayengani’s Biography
South African Xitsonga singer Bennet Skheto Baloyi better known by his professional title President Benny Mayengani was born on the 11th of January 1979. He became popular after his first studio album “Tiba Ben” was released in the year 2011.
It is anticipated that the album would have emotionally charged and musically complex songs that will appeal to both younger and more experienced Maskandi listeners. HIS CAREER JOURNEY
Under Limpopo Poison, Benny Mayengani is well-known for his cooperation with Mr. Jambatani, Prince Rhangani, and Hlungwane soldier Joe Shirimani na Vana va Ndoda. In the year 2011, he published “Tiba Ben” his first studio album, which made him popular in the Xitsonga music scene. At the Xitsonga Music Awards on September 28, 2013, Benny Mayengani received three nominees which were Best Xitsonga Album of the Year, Best Xitsonga Male Artist, and Best Xitsonga Popular Song of the Year. “Ni Happy” which was his tenth studio album, was released in 2019 and received a nomination for the award for best male artist at the Limpopo Music Awards. Following its release on November 27, 2020. Benny Mayengani’s song “Malambani” topped the iTunes Songs Charts for four days running.
In addition to being a musician, Benny Mayengani was the first Tsonga musician to have a position with the Johannesburg Chamber as a PR Councilor for the City of Johannesburg, according to the Economic Freedom Fighters, in 2016. Benny Mayengani resigned as the EFF’s PR Councilor on the 7th of October 2019. Benny Mayengani was formally welcomed to the African National Congress (ANC) in February 2020 by Stanley Mathabatha who is the chairperson of the African National Congress in Limpopo. He founded his own political party, the Action Alliance Development Party (AADP), in June 2023.
In 2018, Benny Mayengani eagerly anticipated hosting a music concert at Johannesburg Stadium. He utilized an attachment that was similar to Cassper Nyovest’s, which led to Cassper Nyovest accusing Benny Mayengani of using his trademark and sending him a letter asking him to stop. According to the results of the inquiries, Cassper Nyovest was incorrect in his trademark claim and was unable to initiate any legal action against Benny Mayengani.
