ABOUT ABAFANA BAKA MGQUMENI MUSICAL TEAM AND FORMATION

Abafana Baka Mgqumeni is a well known south african maskandi musical group which comprises of “Nelisani and Sakhiseni Nseleku” who are two brothers. This two brothers combining talents together brought in great success for themselves and also of the south africa music industry. This group pays respect to their mentor and maskandi legend Mgqumeni Khumalo. “Nelisani and Sakhiseni Nseleku” are nephews of Mgqumeni Khumalo.

Nelisani Nseleku is known to be a vocalist and guitarist which he uses his amazing talent to play guitar and his wonderful voice to sing.

Sakhiseni Nseleku is also known for his talent as a vocalist and percussionist. he performs in vocal styles.

With both cooperation, they make their music life an amazing journey and inspiration to upcoming musicians. They both bring energy in the group.

In the early 2000s, this group was formed by a group of young musicians who are of the same region. Their leader was Mgqumeni Khumalo.Listening to his music gave them more inspiration and motivation in going after dream. Mgqumeni Khumalohas a unique way of telling stories and his stories and motivation and inspiring. This groups were futhermore trained by Mgqumeni Khumalowhich he made sure of the growth of the group. He gave them potential that inspired their ability to put in more work in their dream achievement.

MGQUMENI KHUMALO’S DEATH:

Mgqumeni Khumalosadly passed away on the June 14, 2009. He was 56 years of age when he passed on. He suffered from a life threatening disease. He suffered from diabetes and other health complications which he suggested for long. His legacy still lives on through his songs and also his inspired group still maintaining his legacy.
