A maskandi artist who was stabbed by his ex-lover will not pursue justice
Dumakude was scheduled to sing at the Umkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) event in Germiston, Gauteng, on Sunday, April 28. However, an ex-lover who allegedly refused to accept that their relationship, then stabbed him. The singer claimed that although they had only been dating for a year, she knew she was a second choice and that he had a three years relationship.
Following a seven day hospitalization, Maskandi artist Lindelani Dumakude has declared his desire to move on from the stabbing incident and has decided not to file a lawsuit against the former ex lover who caused him harm.
Dumakude disclosed to City Press that their breakup occurred in November. Still, the woman would not stop pleading with him to return to her, and occasionally she would become upset when he refused.
According to him, he stated;” Someone will beg for you to return to them if they still love you, you know that. Though occasionally rude, swearing, or wishing me ill luck, she would tell me that she missed me and that she missed making me meals. Some days, I could see that she was only trying to get closer to me, but I was no longer there. Instead, she would ask us to collaborate on music.”
He further explained how he was stabbeed. According to Dumakude, who released Ushuni WoClever in 2020, he collected his fiancée to drop off the car he was driving after performing and dropped off his crew mates in Germiston. He explained in his own word “my ex kept phoning and asking where I was while I was on my way, and I told her that it was none of her business. I ended the call, but she continued to call, distracting me from my driving, so I put my phone in flight mode so I could focus on the road. I suppose it infuriated her when I told her I was with my girlfriend before”.
The musician claimed that his ex-girlfriend had known he had parked his car, and shortly after 10 o’clock at night, the enraged ex approached him and his lover as they were attempting to get in touch with the car’s owner.
Despite their silence following the incident, according to Dumakude, “she is still disrespectful, showing that she is not mentally okay.”
The singer claimed that she had sent him messages implying that he had received his just desserts. He stated that he didn’t think it was necessary to file a case and that it was okay if the ex’s actions had brought her some closure, satisfaction, and retribution.
When pressed for an explanation, the ex-girlfriend angrily claimed that she was unaware of Dumakude’s stabbing and advised the journalist to speak with Dumakude about the situation. Just before hanging up, she stated this.
