MTHANDENI SK surprises many as he introduces a new maskandi genre
Known by many as “IgcokamaElisha and also as “Mthandeni”, Mthandeni Sk “Manqele is the South African king of the Maskandi genre and was born in KwaZulu-Natal, KwaHlabisa (eMdletsheni).During his more than ten years in the music business, he has produced a number of albums and singles, including the 2023 release of the well-known hit song “Paris,” which featured Lwah Ndlunkulu. The smash song “Gucci,” which he recently released, includes MaWhoo.
The 2024 Record of the Year title at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) went to Mthandeni. “Gucci” with “Mawhoo” and “Ishephisi Ejezini” with Nomcebo Zikode are two of his other worldwide hits.
KingShaka who is the founder of the Zulu country and Jesus Christ are two examples of Mthandeni’s role models. In addition to continuing to amuse, he hopes to win Grammys and BET awards. After becoming disabled in a vehicle accident in 1993, Mthandeni’s mother, Bekwaphi Shandu, passed away in October 2022.
