OVERVIEW:

Every September, Margate, KwaZulu-Natal’s Ugu Sports & Leisure Centre hosts the Ugu Maskandi Music Festival, a public celebration. September28, 2024 is the planned date of this year’s festival, which looks to be a memorable occasion. Engaging music fans from all around South Africa and beyond, the festival has become more and more well-known since its start in 2021.

THE FESTIVAL’S PAST:

Dedicated to advancing and honoring the South African-originated genre of Maskandi music, the Ugu Maskandi Music Festival was established in 2021. Presenting the finest in Maskandi music and honoring the rich cultural legacy of the Zulu people, the festival has been conducted yearly for the previous four years. The festival has become a mainstay in South Africa’s music calendar as a result of the organizers’ relentless efforts, which have paid off.

ARTISTS AND ARRANGEMENT:

The event showcases the finest of the music with a varied cast of popular and local Maskandi artists. Thwasa Lekhansela, Gcokama Elisha, Bahubhe, Gatsheni, Ichwane Lebhanca, Inyoni Emhlophe, Phuzekhemisi, Khuzani, Jabagqobhi, Menzi, Skweletu, Limit, Stability, Mjolisi, Solwazi, Nongoma, Tornado, Mpuphe, Mafakhiza, Mattolabate, Magazi, Lagkabha, Mayogur, Somatekisi, Mjikelwa, Ezandlamhlathi, Vukani Nzama, Sphithiphithi, Knulekani, Shonoine, Mafikizolo, Dsd, Mfazi Ogcwele Nomavula Qondanisa, Bingelela, Big Zulu, Nolly M, Thandeka Hadebe, Amayellowbone & Mbube.

On September 28, 2024, the Ugu Sports & Leisure Centre in Margate, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, will host the 2024 Ugu Maskandi Festival. PASSES AND INGRESS
You can purchase festival tickets online or at the gate. It is advised to make reservations in advance because doing so will save money compared to buying tickets at the door the day of the event.
